Because many people do not know and/or recognize the following, we are marketing the Yellow line.
The Yellow Dog is an initiative of Eva Oliversson, who started the Gula Hund or Yellow Dog campaign with the Swedish REKO group at the end of June 2012. This initiative ensures that some dogs are offered more space because they need it.
If you see a dog with a yellow cloth or yellow ribbon around his neck, or a yellow ribbon on his leash or harness, please keep in mind that this is a dog that needs distance from other dogs. When you see this 'Yellow Dog' sign, do not approach this dog and his or her owner with your own dog. The yellow sign indicates that the dog is not relaxed when other dogs come close.
You don't know that in advance. Only the owner of the 'Yellow Dog' knows this. So keep your distance and give the dog and its owner time to get out of your way.
There are several reasons why a dog may need this space.
In short: the yellow sign means that the dog needs more space.
Yellow Dog (The Yellow Dog) is a campaign that is being conducted in several countries. The campaign is run for the sake of all dogs that need a little more distance from other dogs.
If you also find it necessary for your dog to keep a distance from other dogs, buy the Z-line “Ztop” from the company Zterk. For example, if you want to train without distraction or structurally if you know that your dog cannot handle the approach of others.
A dog in pain may be anxious that an approach will hurt. Or an adopted dog is still getting used to its new environment and feels intimidated anyway because everything is new. But it is also possible that a yellow dog is engaged in training or behavioral therapy.
You may also be able to make a Yellow Dog out of your bitch when she is in heat. This way you indicate that dog owners with willing males should also keep their distance. So clear and it saves a lot of hassle to keep your bitch in heat away from the males.
In addition, it might be helpful for children to be able to learn that a yellow line, cloth, or ribbon means: Please don't approach me.
